DESCRIPTION:This workshop is part of a series and takes place over multiple weekends – see below: \n\n\n\n\nApril 18 (10am-12pm) – Drawing Songbirds at Morris Arboretum (Part 1)\n\n\n\nMay 23 (10am – 12pm) – Drawing Raptors at Morris Arboretum (Part 2)\n\n\n\nJune 20 (10am – 12pm) – Drawing Waterfowl at Morris Arboretum (Part 3)\n\n\n\n\nLearn how to draw soaring and perched raptors (birds of prey) in this workshop taught by naturalist and wildlife illustrator Jack Hobe! Raptors are majestic and fierce both in flight and while perched\, and there are lots of useful techniques to capture them in both behaviors. Building on the content from the previous workshop (How to Draw Songbirds)\, Jack will share ways to adapt the “gesture sketching” framework model for perched raptors. Guests will also practice sketching from photos and videos of perched hawks\, eagles and falcons. There will then be a “Drawing Hawks in Flight” segment containing tips for portraying circling raptors using a framework for the bird’s wings and body\, and how make sense of those crazy wing shapes as the bird turns! No art or drawing experience required for this workshop—all skill levels are welcome!
