Ornithology, Wildlife Art, Nature Workshops
Information:
Vultures are fascinating birds – they serve as vital components of the ecosystem, share information with other birds in their flock, and can digest some of the most toxic bacteria known to science. Let’s learn how to draw them! In this workshop, naturalist and artist Jack Hobe will present an easy-to-learn gesture sketching system for accurately capturing perched vultures, along with tips for drawing the head, wings and body. We will then cover techniques for drawing vultures in flight and making sense of their complex wing shapes. Guests will have opportunities to draw from photos of perched and flying vultures throughout the program, and there may be an appearance of a special guest to model for us! Participants are required to bring a sketchbook, pencil or pen, and colored pencils or watercolor (if desired).
