Drawing Waterfowl at Morris Arboretum (Part 3 of How to Draw Birds Series)

August 23 @ 10:00 am 12:00 pm

This workshop is part of a series and takes place over multiple weekends – see below:

In the last installment of the How to Draw Birds workshop series taught by naturalist and wildlife illustrator Jack Hobe, participants will learn how to draw ducks, geese and swans – waterfowl! Ducks can be really hard to capture with their weird head and beak shapes and partially submerged bodies, but with a little practice, drawing them will become second nature! As wit the previous two workshops, Jack will show how to use the gesture sketching framework to block in your waterbird before drawing. Topics covered include drawing ducks’ beaks and heads, showing submerged bodies, documenting color patterns, and drawing ducks from different angles. No art or drawing experience required for this workshop—all skill levels are welcome! Bring a sketchbook or paper, pencil, and colored pencils / watercolor (if desired).
